A very fresh nose of red and dark berry liqueur aromas are liberally laced with notes of plum and violet. There is good power and concentration to the medium-bodied flavors that possess a velvety palate impression on the impressively rich and lingering finish. This is not particularly elegant, at least not in the context of Volnay but it certainly does not lack for volume or mid-palate density.
